Wind Power Plants
Modern wind power plants have so-called pitch systems which position the rotor blades according to the wind speed and direction. This helps to control the power output of the wind power plants, to achieve a higher level of efficiency and provides protection when the wind speeds are too high or when the plant has to be taken off the network. In pitch systems, ultracapacitors ensure the reliable and safe operation of the wind power plant.
Solar Power Systems
So that a solar power plant achieves its maximum output power, the position of its cells or mirrors must accordingly track the position of the sun. The energy required for this can be supplied, for example, via modular ultracapacitor storage.
